LG G Flex Release Date: High-End Curved Smartphone To Get 4K Video Recording Support Soon, LG G2 May Receive Update As Well

LG G Flex release date: Do you own LG's first curved handset and one of the most anticipated smartphones before it was announced latert last year? Then you may have felt a little bad when you saw new handsets released at the CES and MWC supporting 4K video recording. However, a new rumor suggests that your G Flex might actually get the feature as well.

According to a report by Android Authority, the handset's agent profile revealed that the device would be able to capture 2160p of video clips. Given then device's Snapdragon 800 chipset, that is certainly a possibility.

The source said that the ability to record 4k video clips would arrive with an software update via OTA so LG G Flex owners should stay tuned for that. Unfortunately, the handset would still be unable to record clips at 120fps, nor shoot slow-mo videos.

Interestingly, the LG G2 would reportedly receive the same update in the following weeks, providing support for 4K video recording.

Both the G2 and the G Flex may be months old, but the Korean manufacturer wants to keep them relevant in a very competitive Android market.
