Peter Capaldi Comforts Autistic Doctor Who Fan About Matt Smith As Whovians Theorize On The Next Steven Moffat After Season 8 Finishes!

As "Doctor Who" season 8 continues filming, Peter Capaldi has warmed the hearts of all Whovians with a touching shout-out to Matt Smith.

During a recent filming of "Doctor Who" season 8, Peter Capaldi took the time to reassure a young autistic girl that Matt Smith is okay handing over the TARDIS to him.

“Matt was really nice to me, as Jenna was too. They were both very welcoming to me when I came into the TARDIS," said Capaldi to the young Whovian.

"Matt said to me to look after Doctor Who and he gave me his watch and he said that in his own way he was happy that it was me that was coming in. So I will do my very best to be as much fun and as friendly as he is… I will be different.”

Peter Capaldi proceeded to show the fan a picture of Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman.

“So they say it’s OK for me to be the Doctor. I hope that you think it would be OK for me to be the Doctor too… I might be a bit noisy at first!”

And as Matt Smith departs "Doctor Who," some are wondering whether Steven Moffat will be leaving the series after season 8 as well.

“You never know that in advance. If we weren’t enjoying it, or we didn’t think there was anything good left to do, we’d stop, but we haven’t reached that point yet, is all we can say," said Moffat to Assignment X.

“Eventually, I’ll stop doing 'Doctor Who,' because it stops me doing anything else. But Sherlock doesn’t swamp my schedule, doesn’t swamp anyone. So I could imagine we’ll come back and do Sherlock fairly often for many years, rather than very often for a few years.”

Recently, Doctor Who TV compiled a list of possible successors, with names like Toby Whithouse, Mark Gatiss, and Neil Gaiman.

Who do you think should take over "Doctor Who" if Steven Moffat leaves?
