Xiaomi Mi2 review: Specs of the Xiaomi Android-smartphone includes a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor, 4.3-inch Full HD display and 8MP camera. The former flagship by the “Apple of China,” the Xiaomi company, has sold 15 million and is now being sold for a reduced price of $210.

According to Phone Arena’s 2012 review of the gadget, the Xiaomi Mi-Two also known as Phone 2, “is one of the hottest device you can imagine.” It’s equipped with the earlier mentioned Snapdragon S4 chip and was the first device in the world to have an 8MP camera in its unit. The Xiaomi Mi2 has 2 GB of RAM for internal memory and 16GB built-in storage. Battery-wise, it has 2000 mAh.

CNET Asia described the Xiaomi Mi2 as a smartphone that offers “high-end performance at a budget price point.” The tech site says that the device is cheap and delivers a powerful performance. It also has some great image quality for an 8-inch megapixel camera. The Xiaomi Mi2 also has the company’s custom MUI OS and has great battery life.

A key downside for the Mi2 is that is has slow autofocus and you’ll need to install the Google apps yourself. It has no NFC, has a glossy rear cover and design feels very “me too!” or similar with a lot of the other handsets out there.

The Xiaomi Mi3 succeeded the Xiaomi Mi2 last year, dubbed the fastest handset yet from the company. The Mi3 was well-received and sold 100,000 units in less than two minutes when it was launched.

Xiaomi is setting its sights to sell 40 million units for the year 2014. Earlier, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has remarked that the Chinese tech giant is ready to compete in the international market.

According to rumors, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi4 will be marketed to the an international base. The Xiaomi Mi2 and Xiaomi Mi2 is only available in China, Hong Kong, and a few other Asian markets.
