Xbox One Vs. PS4: Specs, Graphics Poll Disaster? Sony Playstation 4 Sales Surpass Microsoft Next-Generation Console By Almost 2.5 Million Units

Sony's Playstation 4 has reached six million units sold as of March 2 while the Xbox One sold about 3.5 million units, the University Herald reports, leaving many fans wondering if Microsoft is trailing behind their rival because of specs and graphics.

"I am absolutely delighted that PS4 is off to such a great start in Japan," Andrew House, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. said in a press release, according to the site.

"The responses we have received for the PS4 system's integrated social capabilities have been phenomenal, and I couldn't be more thrilled that gamers are utilizing these unique features to engage, share, play and connect with users around the world.  SCE will continue to expand the world of PlayStation by growing its library of breakthrough games and bringing more innovative features and services only possible on PS4."

Titanfall from EA Games and Respawn is slated as a "big deal" for the Xbox One, Forbes.com reports.

Xbox One did significantly well, but not as well as the PS4, GameSpot.com writes.

"While both next-gen consoles started out strong in November, the PS4 nearly doubled sales of the Xbox One in January. And with the PS4 now out in Japan and off to a solid start, that gulf between Sony and Microsoft is only going to grow wider," the website writes.

"Microsoft still has no set date for bringing their console to Japan, which doesn't necessarily mean they'll be outsold over there, but Microsoft has generally faced an uphill battle in Japan. Even the Wii U is outperforming Microsoft's current Xbox 360 console in total sales, which doesn't present a very rosy picture for future Japanese success. [Note: I still think the Wii U is a pretty great machine, but even Nintendo has spoken out on its much lower than expected sales.]"

Xbox One UK marketing director Harvey Eagle recently stated that the biggest games of 2014 can only be played on the Xbox One, the Inquisitr reports.

"I'd say that Titanfall is a game that has won more than 80 awards so far. It's incredibly hotly anticipated, and I believe it's a game that people will buy an Xbox One in order to play," he said, according to the site.

"But moving forward, if you think about what I think are the three hottest games of the year to come - Titanfall, Watch Dogs and Destiny - the only place you're going to be able to play all three of those games is on Xbox One."
