Upcoming Huawei Phones 2014: Octa-Core Kirin 920 Beats Snapdragon 801 In Benchmark, Can Even Support 2K Display, 32MP Camera And 4G LTE Connectivity

Upcoming Huawei phones 2014: Most flagship devices today pack the Snapdragon 800 chipset from Qualcomm, and it surely is fast given the benchmarks it has gone through in the past months.

Even faster is the 801 version of the chipset, which is already in a few devices this year, one of which is the All New One from HTC. However, in a new report, a virtually unknown chipset has overtaken the Snapdragon 801 - Huawei's octa-core Kirin 920.

According to a report by GSM Arena, AnTuTu benchmark has come across a Huawei device powered by the octa-cored Kirin 920, and it managed to squeak by another device powered by Snapdragon 801. In fact, the Huawei-baked processor was close to overtaking the Snapdragon 805 variant, which makes it even more interesting.

In the report, the Chinese-made processor features four Cortex-A7 cores and four Cortex-A15 cores to make up the entire chipset - and it works wonders.

The report claims that the octa-core Kirin 920 is capable of running a 2K (2560 x 1440) display, 4G LTE and even a 32MP camera.

So are we expecting the birth of a new chapter in processor history? Let's just wait for Huawei's upcoming smartphones to find out.
