Apple iWatch Price, Release Date: $149-229 Expected For Apple Wearable, Rumored Device May Have 1.3, 1.4, 1.5-inch Screen, Flexible OLED Displays; 2H 2014 Launch Possible

Apple iWatch price, release date: The possible cost of an Apple iWatch is speculated at around $149-229. News about the device spread after the Cupertino tech giant was reported to have trademarked the term “iWatch” in both Japan and Russia. Though no leaked photos of the device have surfaced, analysts and bloggers say that it could be launched at the second half of this year.

Last year Know Your Mobile reported the speculated price of the Apple wearable. Based n a report from an analyst it suggested that the iWatch maybe priced between between $149 and $229.

Korean newspaper Chosun Ibo earlier reported that Apple is currently working on three looks of the device. Citing an unnamed source, it noted that Apple has a 1.5-inch flexible OLED display that is scheduled for limited production run with the other two being 1.3-inch and 1.4-inch.

The iWatch is said to be entering mass production 2Q of 2014 and will have a release date on the second half of next year. There has been suggestion that Apple may launch the iWatch together with the iPhone 6 on October 2014.

A memo sent out by Apple CEO Tim Cook suggests that there are some big things coming from Apple. Many speculate that the launch of the wearable would be a huge step for the company.

'We have a lot to look forward to in 2014, including some big plans that we think customers are going to love, “ writes Cook in a message meant for Apple employees only. “I am extremely proud to stand alongside you as we put innovation to work serving humankind’s deepest values and highest aspirations.”

Wearables seems to be the next big thing in tech. Juniper Research predicts that sales of wearable technology will hit 180 million by 2018, 10x what they are now.

Samsung in a report has recently confirmed that it has sold 800,000 Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatches, officially making it the world’s number one wearable tech manufacturer according to Know Your Mobile. The South Korean tech giant has also released a Tizen-powered second generation of the wearable known as the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2.

Apple, Google and Samsung are expected to be big players in the wearable tech space.
