CBS' hit summer series "Under the Dome" has started production on season 2 in Wilmington, NC, Zap2it.com reports. In a fun new teaser trailer, actors Mike Vogel and Colin Ford, who play Barbie and Joe, respectively, ask author Stephen King to kill off Big Jim Rennie (Dean Norris). But King says that the script is already finished and that he's tweeting - from his typewriter.

As we previously reported, "Under the Dome" season 2's cast introduced newcomer Grace Victoria Cox, who will play Melanie, Joe's new love interest. The Hollywood Reporter describes Melanie's character as "a clear contrast to Norrie (Mackenzie Lintz)." The 18-year-old actress will portray "the lithe, mysterious, beautiful and almost regal Melanie, who catches the eye of Joe (Colin Ford)."

"Under the Dome" also recently added "CSI: NY" star Eddie Cahill and "Misfits" alum Karla Crome as new series regulars, most likely in preparation for the two "favorites" that are soon to be killed off in season 2.
