Shailene Woodley will be starring in the upcoming film Divergent opposite Theo James. The American science fiction adventure film, to be released on March 21, is based on the novel of the same name by Veronica Roth. It tells the story of "Beatrice "Tris" Prior (Woodley) who discovers that she is Divergent, which means she does not belong to one faction, and soon uncovers a sinister plot brewing in her seemingly perfect society."

While the public are abuzz about Woodley's new film, as well as her Fault in Our Stars which is also based on a novel by John Green, little did everyone know that she was once considered for the main role in upcoming film Fifty Shades of Grey (another novel adaptation). In an interview with the Daily Beast, she confirmed that she was almost tapped to play the role of Anastasia "Ana" Steele which is now handed to Dakota Johnson.

" It actually is true. I didn't want to audition for it. It's because I had already done Divergent and I knew there was no way I wanted to do multiple franchises at the same time, because that's crazy, so I didn't see the point in it," she told the Daily Beast.

On meeting Jennifer Lawrence

Woodley also enthusiastically talked about Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence. The Divergent star almost landed a role in the trilogy but what she is more excited about is meeting its lead star. She also revealed that she indeed sent J-Law a letter asking for advice and her response was amazing.

"Small things will change, but if you stay who you are, nothing will change. The big picture won't change. It's only going to make your life greater and you'll be so grateful for it. Don't be stupid, don't make a sex tape, don't do drugs, don't go to Whole Foods the day the movie opens, and you'll be fine!" I thought, "I'm gonna love this chick when I meet her."

Woodley said that she is yet to meet the Oscar winneer but insisted that "I'll meet her one of these days."
