Heroes Season 5 Casting News: Milo Ventimiglia might not have the time to reprise his "Heroes" character in 2015. 

Peter Petrelli, portrayed by Milo Ventimiglia on Heroes, is a hospice nurse-turned-paramedic who can absorb and mimic the powers of other people with special powers. Milo, a pretty good mime himself, has been free since TNT canceled Mob City. Milo Ventimiglia was cast in ABC's alien drama The Visitors. He will be joined by Hunger Games actress Lily Rabe and Revenge's Barry Sloane.

Milo Ventimiglia won't have time to play Peter Petrelli in the upcoming Heroes Season 5 that will air in 2015. The new show also puts the future of Barry Sloane's Revenge character Aiden up in the air.

Heroes is set to return for 13 new episodes next year under the title Heroes Reborn. NBC plans to launch a digital series to introduce the plot and characters before the show airs. No cast members have been announced, though some may end up being from the original series' four seasons, which aired from 2006 to 2010.

Masi Oka, who played Hiro Nakamura, took to Twitter to hint that she might return. When "Heroes was cancelled only four years ago, many of the stars like Zachary Quinto, Hayden Panettiere, and Milo Ventimiglia got roles in movies and other TV shows. The 2015 premiere will introduce new characters and new storylines. 

The new sci-fi TV pilot The Visitors is based on Ray Bradbury's short story "Zero Hour." Ventimiglia  will play John Doe, also known as Drew Bennigan, who is found unconscious in a D.C. alleyway and wakes up to discover he's lost his memory. All he has as far as clues is a strange tattoo and a strange language.

Lily Rabe will play Claire Bennigan, "an FBI agent and single mother who is torn between work and home life."

Barry Sloane will play Wes. He used to be with the Special Projects Division of the Defense department. Now he's investigating military threats on the downlow for the FBI.

Under the Dome's Soo Hugh will write the script and be the executive producer ob ABC's alien drama. The Visitors  comes from executive producer Steven Spielberg along with Amblin TV and Grady Girl Productions Mark Romanek will direct the pilot.

Lisa Rabe was nominated for a Tony for her role in Broadway's "The Merchant of Venice." She most recently played the roles Misty Day, Sister Mary Eunice McKee and Nora Montgomery on F/X's "American Horror Story: Coven" miniseries. Rabe's upcoming big screen projects include The Veil, Pawn Sacrifice and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Parts 1 and 2.

Milo Ventimiglia is best known for his part in Wolverine. He will next be seen in Grace of Monaco and the remake of Heat. Ventimiglia also stars on the Crackle series Chosen.
