Nexus 6 Release Date: Details Emerge About Google's 2014 Version Of Hero Phone, LG Again Tapped For The Job, But Device Will Launch Later This Year

Nexus 6 release date: It's almost only 5 months since the LG-made Google Nexus 5 was launched bearing Android 4.4 KitKat. But as early as now, we are hearing details about the upcoming 2014 edition of Google's well-loved Android handset.

Now, according to a recent report from BGR, Google has already revealed some details about the device and its alleged manufacturer.

According to a report from Gizmodo which it got from a source during MWC 2014, the next Nexus device will still be made by LG. That makes the Korean manufacturer the choice of Google for its Nexus line for the third straight year.

Like the Nexus 5, the 2014 edition will be a 'lightweight' version of the soon-to-be-announced LG G3, though that is already not surprising considering how LG has handled its previous Nexus projects.

Whatever holds for the Nexus 6, we won't see it until the latter half of the year. Google's Sundar Pichai clearly said at the MWC in Barcelona that the device will not be officially announced until Q3 or even Q4 just in time for the shopping season.
