One of the most unforgettable moments in last Sunday's Academy Awards show was John Travolta introducing Idina Menzel with another name. It is probably unprecedented as it was not a mispronunciation.

'Idina Menzel' is considerably a long way from 'Adele Dazeem,' the name that Travolta mentioned instead of the Tony Award winner's real name. The reason for the flub was never given.

John Travolta issued a statement, that was not exactly an apology. From AP: "I've been beating myself up all day. Then I thought ... what would Idina Menzel say? She'd say, 'Let it go. Let it go!' "

"Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night! [the movie won for best original song and best animated feature]."

Idina Menzel, on her part, is adjusting to her new status as a pop star. From AP:

"I've had a lot of self-introspection about this. This business is so hard, especially the music business, and I've tried so hard to cross over, to convince people just because I was in a Broadway show I didn't have the street cred to be a rock or a pop singer," Idina explained to the Associated Press.

"And then the one time I have it, it's the arrangement from the Disney movie."

The Daily Mail reports that the producers of "If/Then" the Broadway musical which Menzel will headline, saw the opportunity for humor and changed Menzel's name in the signs at the Theater. From Daily Mail:

"As well as hundreds of social networking users, the If/Then producers clearly saw the funny side of the error as they changed a sign outside the theatre ahead of a dress rehearsal for the production on Tuesday.

Several people took to Twitter to post a picture of the comical playbill complete with the name Adele Dazeem on. But the producers' fun didn't end there as they also edited Idina's name in the production's programme. 

Janet Krupin, who also stars in the musical, took to Twitter to post a picture of the page in the booklet which focuses on Idina's role as Elizabeth, which carried on the joke by stating the part would be played by 'Adele Dazeem'."

No harm done from the Grease superstar, so no more apologies needed. But it's highly unlikely that Travolta might present at next year's Oscars. What about it, Ellen DeGeneres?
