Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams might have a passionate love in 'The Notebook' but in real life, the 34-year-old hunk wants to spend the lifetime with his girlfriend Eva Mendes.

Recent reports claim that it is the 'Place beyond the Pines' actor who begged his girlfriend for another chance. The brunette beauty reportedly broke up with Gosling because he didn't want to marry her.

"Eva gave Ryan a marriage ultimatum last October and, when he failed to produce a ring, she walked out on him," one source told the Independent Woman.

However, an insider of Heat magazine claimed that the 'Gangster Squad' actor later realized the impact of the split: "Ever since they broke up, Ryan's been pleading with Eva to take him back. He was a wreck without her - she's his muse and the only woman alive who could give him the courage to try directing. They're good for each other and a great match. He knows it and he's not going to let her get away this time."

It might be the reason why Gosling and Mendes have not been seen together for the past couple of months. The reconciliation might have happened when Gosling was recently seen visiting Mendes in her Beverly Hills abode. Apart from visiting the Cuban beauty's house, he was likewise spotted driving her SUV.

The 'Hitch' actress remains silent about her relationship with Gosling although she recently addressed rumors about her pregnancy.

"This all started because I didn't want to go through the scanners at the airport - those X-Ray scanners that are really creepy. They basically see you naked and not to mention there is a radiation aspect to it. So I always opt out. I always ask for a personal pat down," she explained.
