Android 4.4 Kit Kat Release Date: Sony Xperia Z1 Ultra And HTC Butterfly S Get The KitKat Treatment, Brings Improved Features, But Removes Support For Adobe Flash In Web

Android 4.4 Kit Kat release date: It's already more than a year since the HTC Butterfly S was released, but it seems like the Taiwanese manufacturer wants to do its consumers a favor and has released the OTA update for KitKat.

That would also be the case for the more recently-launched Sony Xperia Z Ultra phablet.

According to a report from GSM Arena, the new update has already been launched to the C6833 LTE version of the Z Ultra in Hong Kong, with more markets and countries to follow in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, the HTC Butterfly S, which was updated to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean just this year already gets the latest version of the platform.

In the report, the HTC handset would get all of the features of KitKat, plus some features such as Cloud Print Service, new Bluetooth profiles and some security and performance enhancements.

Unfortunately, the update will also leave out the support for Adobe Flash for the device's default web.

If you own either a Sony Xperia Z Ultra or an HTC Butterfly S, and you are within this region, go to stable Wi-Fi-enabled area and download the update.
