Dating couple Sean Penn and Charlize Theron were recently spotted in an intimate dinner with close friends at the Sunset Tower Hotel and days after the "Gangster Squad" actor was seen carrying a huge painting from Ireland, perhaps a gift for the "Snow White and the Huntsman" actress.

The extremely private couple have been displaying moments of PDA after admitting that they are indeed dating following months of speculation from the press.

After making their red carpet debut at he Oscars as well as hanging out with other celebrities at Madonna's post-Oscar's party, this time Sean Penn and Charlize Theron are enjoying the solitude.

According to E! News, dating couple Sean Penn and Charlize Theron were holding hands after dinner as they waited for the valet to bring their car along.

Sean Penn and Charlize Theron spent a few days apart though when he was presenting an award in Dublin, Ireland during the Front Line Defenders Awards. The "Gangster Squad" actor has presented an award to NoorziaAfridi, a women's rights advocate who founded the Society for Appraisal and Women Empowerment in Rural Areas.

Sean Penn, however, did not arrive home empty handed as he stepped out of the Los Angeles Airport lugging around a large painting, perhaps a gift for his lady love Charlize Theron. A portion of the paper cover was torn revealing what looked like a landscape "with blue skies and green fields," MailOnline reported.

In a series of published photos at the gossip site, Sean Penn was clearly struggling to carry around the large painting. At one point, a cop in a police car even watched him go by without even breaking his stride.

A source told MailOnline that the dating couple has been talking about shacking together and possibly even wedding bells.

A wedding could be a tall order since Charlize Theron has already said back in 2011 that she's not a big fan of marriage. She had a long term relationship with Stuart Townsend but was never married.

Sean Penn, on the other hand, was previously married to Madonna and Robin Wright. He has a son with Madonna and two children with Robin Wright, Dylan, 23 and Hopper, 20.
