‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Cast: Scarlett Johansson Pregnancy Will Not Delay Highly Anticipated Sequel! Black Widow Always Wins!

The news of Scarlett Johansson's pregnancy right at the onset of the filming of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" caused some fans to worry. The Black Widow herself gives us the reassurance.

Scarlett Johansson was in the junket promoting "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." Her character had a significant part in that movie, and it was confirmed by Kevin Feige himself that Black Widow will play a bigger role in the Avengers sequel.

None of that will change, if we take ScarJo's statements in an interview with the Huffington Post: "Everything for 'Avengers 2' -- we're full steam ahead. We start shooting in three weeks and I'm stunt training and we're good to go. You know, I think it's something that is [laughing] hard to talk about, exactly. You know, trying to skirt around your question exactly and, you know, doing a poor job of it. But, you know, like I said, everything is exactly on schedule. Everything is going just fine. The Black Widow always wins and will continue to."

While she seems hesitant to elaborate on her pregnancy (understandable for a first timer) but her response essentially means "No, nothing will change because of the pregnancy." There won't be any delays with the movie or its release date.

Scarlett was more relaxed and composed when she talked to Collider. She focused on the script and the character progression, and virtually echoed Chris Hemsworth's praise for their director: "I was just amazed-Joss is something else, he really is. He locks himself away for God knows how long; I think he has the dark circles to prove it. [He] just came out with something totally solid. I was really impressed by his ability to make this ever-expanding Marvel universe feel very close-knit and cerebral and progressive. I mean this movie feels like the continuation of The Avengers, it doesn't feel like a tag-on or the rehashed version or just 'let's throw a bunch of new characters in there and keep the thing alive.' It really feels like the next step, and all of our characters, our relationships with one another continue to progress, become more intertwined, more complicated, more meshed. And the film has a lot of great comic book moments that the fans are gonna love, but it's also got a lot of really great dramatic moments that audience members, I think, will really relate to."

That is the ideal for comic book movies-to keep the integrity of the comic book canon and deliver a movie experience to the audience. Plenty of films had to compromise the former just to deliver the box-office punch (Iron Man 3, anyone?) but Joss Whedon has managed to toe the line quite well.

We'll see if he can keep that up on May 1, 2015 as "Avengers: Age Of Ultron" makes it US release.
