‘Captain America 3’ Cast Rumors: Sebastian Stan As The Next Cap? Actor Reveals He Has Seven More Films Under Marvel! Is ‘Avengers’ Included?
While the buzz around the "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" builds up, the Marvel Studios executives continue to exercise foresight. Sebastian Stan, now known as The Winter Soldier has revealed that he will stick around for a while.
Sebastian Stan, the 31 year old Romanian actor has revealed that he has a whopping nine-picture deal with Marvel. In an interview with Newsarama to promote the Captain America sequel, he shares:
"Nrama: Does your deal with Marvel call for more films in this series?
Stan: Yes.
Nrama: How many more?
Stan: Uh...I think...I think I actually have nine.
Nrama: Really? We call that "job security."
Stan: Yeah, it's great job security.
Nrama: Did you know, going into the first Captain America movie as Bucky, that you'd be doing the Winter Soldier in the second?
Stan: I did, and I didn't. It was a 'maybe.' It led me to prepare myself for this just in case, but I'm not the guy who gets to shoot the movies. When we wrapped, I had no idea if we'd be back. A lot of that has to do with fan response, the public response. But I did really hope that I'd be back to play this character again."
While he has two under his belt with the "Captain America" features, we have to speculate on where the other seven will come from.
It must be noted that Chris Evans, who plays Steve Rogers aka the original Captain America, is only signed for three more films. That would be the two Avengers movies and another Captain America, possibly going up against "Batman Vs Superman."
It is probably safe to assume that The Winter Soldier will take over the mantle of Captain America, since that was how it was portrayed in the comics. Considering that War Machine has been confirmed to be in the Avengers sequel, it's highly probable that The Winter Soldier will join the Avengers.
That would still be 3 out of 7. There is no time span mentioned for completing the movies, and Marvel has long term plans and release dates all the way to 2021.
Suffice to say, we will see more of Sebastian Stan, whether as Bucky, The Winter Soldier or Captain America.
