Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date: Malaysia First To Get Newest High-End Flagship Smartphone, Specs Include 5.1" Super AMOLED Display, Snapdragon 800, 16MP Camera, 2GB RAM

Samsung Galaxy S5 release date: If you are located in Southeast Asia and you are pretty excited to see the Galaxy S5 in the flesh, then you may want to know that the device is arriving in Malaysia a few weeks earlier than expected.

According to a report by GSM Arena, three of the country's local carriers have confirmed that they will be offering the new Samsung flagship beginning on March 27, which is a couple of weeks earlier than the device's international launch.

The announcement did not specifically mention if March 27 is the actual release date, or it would be the date when the carriers would begin taking pre-orders for the device. However, considering that Malaysia is somewhat a neighbor of Samsung's homeland, Korea, it may be getting special treatment.

And that may also hold true for other countries in the region.

We'll keep you posted regarding the alleged release date of the Samsung Galaxy S5 in Malaysia.

Just in case you have been in a cave these past few weeks, here are some specs and details of the newly-announced device. The Galaxy S5 boasts a 5.1-inch screen with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM, Snapdragon 800 chipset, and a 16MP primary camera.
