Samsung Galaxy S5 release date: The newly-announced Galaxy S5 will be available in four colors - black, white, blue and gold -  but if you want to buy the gold edition, and you are going for a carrier version, then your only option in Vodafone. 

According to a report by GSM Arena, the UK carrier has gained exclusive rights for the gold version of the device. Vodafone, and all other UK carriers will open their respective pre-order pages for the Samsung flagship on March 28, while the official release is set on April 11. 

In case you have missed the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona three weeks ago, the Galaxy S5 is Samsung's latest flagship device for its Galaxy S lineup. 

The phone's exterior is made up of durable plastic with a 'dotted' design, which did not impress a lot of hopefuls, fans and bloggers. However, the Korean manufacturer managed to make up by offering solid specs and features. 

The Galaxy S5 boasts a 5.1" display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.5GHz, Snapdragon 801, 2GB of RAM, 16MP primary camera and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

If you want to get the gold-colored version but you are not a Vodafone subscriber, you can still purchase the device from retailers all over UK.
