Upcoming Android Tablets 2014: Google Rumored To Be Working On 8.9" Nexus Slate, Intel Atom Trashed, LG Allegedly Tapped For Production

Upcoming Android tablets 2014: While the Nexus 7 continues to be one of Google's most popular slates, the search giant may be looking for other screen options to cater to a wider market.

According to recent news, the company is already gearing up for the Nexus 8 Android tablet running on Intel's Trail Bay Atom chipset.

However, that plan may have changed as a report from GSM Arena today says that Google is working on a bigger 8.9-inch slate. This means that the upcoming slate may actually be named Nexus 9 instead.

Just like previous Google devices, Korean tech manufacture LG may be tapped to produce the upcoming Android slate.

In the report, the upcoming tablet may possibly be announced in an event on June 25, at Google's I/O conference. We'll keep you posted for more details about this mysterious Google Nexus slate.
