Pregnant Scarlett Johansson Finally Reacts On SodaStream Controversy; ‘The Avengers’ Actress Says She Stands By Her Decision!

A pregnant Scarlett Johansson finally reacted on the SodaStream controversy as "The Avengers" actress is standing by her decision to cut ties with the non-profit group Oxfam as its brand ambassador after receiving harassment from the BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions) movement.

"I stand behind that decision," pregnant Scarlett Johansson told The Guardian. "I was aware of that particular factory before I signed it."

The "Avengers" actress Scarlett Johansson was referring to the Israel-owned SodaStream factory located in the contested territory in the West Bank.

Oxfam criticized her Superbowl ad for SodaStream saying that although it respects the independence of its ambassadors, the SodaStream factory promotes the "denial of rights of the Palestinian communities that we work to support."

She said that the SodaStream factory "still doesn't seem like a problem."

"Until someone has a solution to the closing of that factory to leaving all those people destitute, that doesn't seem like the solution to the problem," a pregnant Scarlett Johansson explained, conceding that she was dragged into a conversation "that's way grander and larger than this one particular issue. And there's no right side or wrong side leaning on this issue."

"I'm coming into this as someone who sees that factory as a model for some sort of movement forward in a seemingly impossible situation," she added.

"The Avengers" actress, however, received support from social media as a Facebook page "I Support Scarlett Johansson Against the Haters" already breached the 30,000 "likes" after she was targetted by the BDS movement.

Facebook page creator Liran Kapoano told The Algemeiner that they didn't expect the enthusiasm of support for the pregnant Scarlett Johansson that "completely undercut the BDS is winning social media narrative."

“I really believe we have opened up the floodgates to a potential major backlash against BDS. This platform may be the foundation for something bigger,” the Facebook page's description reads.
