HTC Market Share Should Be Getting A Boost In Q2 2014, Profit Increase Projected To Go Above 50 Percent With The Help Of Desire 816 And Upcoming All New One

HTC market share: For the past few years, HTC has been struggling in the smartphone battle in the Android family. In 2011, it was at the top of the food chain, edging other wannabes such as Samsung and Sony Ericsson. Fast forward to today and it now becomes one of those wannabes.

But in Q2 this year, the Taiwanese manufacturer could be getting its first major boost in profit in a long time.

According to a report by GSM Arena, French bank and financial services company BNP Paribas projected that the upcoming high-end flagship the All New HTC One, as well as the midrange phablet the Desire 816 would be two of HTC's solutions to its financial woes.

And from the looks of it, the Desire 816 is already off to a blazing start in China where it sold 50,000 units in just 10 minutes, after the official release of the device.

The affordable midrange 5.5-inch phablet will arrive in the UK and other EU markets in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the All New HTC One promises to be a heavyweight both in terms of performance and design. From previous leaked images, the metallic brushed finish certainly beats Samsung's 'dot matrix' design.

However, as similar to previous years, HTC may be creating high-end and premium devices, but if they are not able to back them up with impressive and witty marketing campaigns, the All New One could just be another wasted opportunity for the Taiwanese manufacturer.
