Oppo Find 7 Specs: 50MP Images From New Smartphone Leaked, Impressive Or Simply A Gimmick?

Oppo Find 7 specs: A few days before its official unveiling, we were teased with several images which indicate a 50MP sensor. Apparently, Oppo has other things in mind.

During the launch yesterday, Oppo unveiled only a 13-megapixel sensor for the Find 7. However, the Chinese company paired the decent sensor with a unique technology.

The device's super zoom feature enables the Oppo Find 7 to gather images and come up with an image that looks like it was snapped by a 50-snapper.

While we still don't know exactly how that works, it is a pretty cool concept. If the Taiwanese manufacturer manages to pull it off, then the megapixel wars in smartphones would definitely be over.

Instead, manufacturers would develop their own 'super zoom' features to change the image's resolution from, say 13 megapixels to 50 megapixels. Though that remains to be seen in the Oppo Find 7.

However, as it turns out, the Chinese manufacturer has managed to edge even premium brands in the Android platform. Spec-wise, the Find 7 is more feature-packed and probably less cluttered and bloated with manufacturer-exclusive apps.

It packs a 5.5-inch display with QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution for the higher-end version and an FHD (1920 x 1080) resolution for the 'lower-end' version. Both versions run on quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipsets, though the former has a 3GB RAM while the latter gets a 2GB RAM.

So, is the Oppo Find 7 the smartphone to beat this year?
