Upcoming Android Tablets 2014: HTC And Google Teaming Up For Nexus 8.9? Could Be A Premium Device With A Price Tag Around $300, Launched In July

Upcoming Android tablets 2014: For the past weeks, we have heard rumors that Google is already developing its next device for the Nexus lineup. It does not have a 7-inch screen, neither a 10-inch display.

Another rumor is that the search giant will once again tap LG Electronics to be its development partner for this 'middleground' Nexus device.

Today, new reports claim that at least one of those rumors are true.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Android maker indeed has plans to unveil a bigger Nexus than the Nexus 7, but slightly smaller than the 10-incher tablet Nexus it already has.

The Nexus 8.9 is said to be under development already and would soon be launched in July this year. But if it's not LG that's getting the job, who then?

According to a research firm IHS Technology, Google has chosen HTC instead to work on the new devices. It has been a long time since the Taiwanese manufacturer has developed a Nexus device for Google, and it is working out as part of a plan to rekindle its fire as one of the platform's top brands.

In the report, the Nexus 8.9 is tipped to be a premium device, probably with the latest technology for its specifications. That's why it would not be surprising if the upcoming device would be priced at around $300.
