iPad Mini 2 Specs: Hordes of Apple fans have demanded for it, and the company delivered the Retina iPad minis in October last year. And while its sales have not been that spectacular compared to the original model, it is still considered one of the top tablets in the industry.

In a new report, it looks like Samsung would soon join Apple's success in the iPad mini Retina. But it's not because Samsung will launch another Android tablet. 

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Korean manufacturer has been tapped by the Cupertino company to produce the iPad mini Retina's displays for the latter half of the year. This means all the iPad mini Retinas which would be shipped in July are all packed with Samsung-made displays. 

In the report, Apple has reportedly ditched other manufacturers such as LG, Sharp, and Taiwanese manufacturer AUO.

Such irony. 

It's good to see the two heavyweights working together for a device, and that partnership has become strong through the years. Aside from the LCD displays, Samsung is the number one manufacturer of Apple's processor chips including the 64-bit A7 chip found in the iPhone 5s and the iPad Air.
