Android 4.4 Kit Kat Release Date Hits Korean LG Optimus G Pro, Improves Overall Performance, RAM Management, Updates Google Apps

Android 4.4 Kit Kat release date: After more than a year of staying in Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, LG's previous high-end device has now officially moved to Kitkat territory.

According to a recent report by GSM Arena, the LG Optimus G Pro is now receiving the Kitkat update from carriers in Korea. While there are no updates just yet for international models, the release for the 'homeland' version is an indication that owners would just need to wait sooner rather than later.

In the report, Android KitKat will bring a number of enhancements for the G Pro 2 predecessor, including overall improved speed which is a characteristic of Kitkat, better RAM management, and updated apps.

In addition, other changes include improved messaging capabilities courtesy of the Google Hangouts app, ability to change themes of UI elements, and even modify the color scheme of the notification bar.
