'Divergent' movie's weekend premiere has been deemed lucrative with its $56 million box office earnings. Now on its eight day of showing, executive producers have already given the signal for the sequel's filming.

While 'Divergent' movie is mostly comprised of action-packed scenes, here are five heartbreaking scenes from the film adaptation of Veronica Roth's bestselling novel:

1. When Tris and Caleb left their old faction.

In the futuristic Chicago, people are divided into five factions - Dauntless, Candor, Amity, Erudite, and Abnegation. Upon reaching 16 years old, teens will take an aptitude test that will determine their faction. They will then choose to join a new faction or stay with their old one.

Both born as Abnegation, Tris and her brother Caleb picked different factions during the Choosing ceremony. Their parents tried but failed to mask the pain that they were feeling. After all, it isn't easy to let go of their children whom they have nurtured for years.

2. When Tris realizes that Four is the physically abused son of Marcus Eaton.

Regardless of how strong Four looks, he was actually tormented as a kid by his domineering father. Tris realizes this when Four allowed her to see his fear simulation.

3. When Tris had no choice but to kill Will.

Since they were under a heavy serum, the Dauntless members blindly followed Erudite's orders to kill members of Abnegation. While Tris and her mother were escaping, Will tried to shoot them for he couldn't recognize anyone. With hands trembling and with tears falling on her cheeks, Tris shoots her friend.

4. When Al commits suicide after what he did to Tris.

The initiation for aspiring Dauntless members is nerve-wracking especially for those who are not blessed with physical strength. Those who won't be able to pass will automatically become factionless. Not wanting this to happen, Al joins a group which then tries to kill Tris.

Tris gets saved by Four though she already saw Al's face. Al tried to ask for forgiveness which Tris refused. Feeling remorseful, Al then commits suicide by jumping off a ledge.

5. When Tris loses both her parents.

Tris loses both her parents in separate occasions. Regardless of how painful each scene is, Tris realizes that her parents died selflessly for the welfare of other people - something which Abnegation members will unquestionably do.
