Lindsay Lohan's boyfriend list might be true or not but James Franco wants his name crossed off the dubious file as he denied being "The Canyons" actress' lover.

James Franco joined a list of Hollywood A-listers such as Joaquin Phoenix, Justin Timberlake, Ashton Kutcher, Ryan Phillippe and Benicio del Torro in Lindsay Lohan's boyfriend list released by In Touch magazine.

The "This is the End" actor confessed that he wrote something about Lindsay Lohan in his poetry book "Directing Herbert White" but he quickly added that he didn't write anything bad about the actress and other celebrities in the book.

"And Lindsay herself has told lies about me with her people-she's-slept-with list! So I feel like what I said is much less than what she's said," James Franco said in an interview with Los Angeles Magazine.

James Franco could be telling the truth about not being part of Lindsay Lohan's boyfriend list, E! News said, as the actor has denied sleeping with the troubled actress in an earlier interview with Howard Stern over SiriusXM radio in March 2012.

In the interview, Howard Stern can be heard asking James Franco: "You turned down sex with Lindsay Lohan, didn't you? Back then when she was a lot hotter?"

But the actor didn't bite, telling the controversial anchor that they were just friends.

"She was having issues even then, so you feel weird. Honestly, she was a friend. I've met a lot of people that are troubled and sometimes you don't want to do that," he said.

Lindsay Lohan's boyfriend list was obtained by In Touch, which censored some of the names for legal reasons.

"The list has some pretty big names on it, and they're not all single guys," the insider told the publication. "This getting out now could rock several Hollywood relationships to the core."
