‘The Hobbit: There And Back Again’ Didn’t Live Up To Hype? CinemaCon Fans Waiting For Sneak Peak Of Peter Jackson’s Opus Disappointed!

"The Hobbit: There and Back Again" didn't live up to the hype at CinemaCon after rumors surfaced about the first trailer for the third and final film to be shown in Las Vegas. Fans expecting to get a sneak peak of Peter Jackson's opus then left the arena disappointed.

The hype about the first trailer for "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" was even published by theonering.com, a blog dedicated to all news on Tolkien characters.

While the blog site has not confirmed the sneak peak, it drew attention to the same event last year when "Warner Bros. showed a short reel with Peter Jackson introducing a few clips via video. So, fingers crossed!"

It turned out, however, that fans were treated instead to a recorded video message from director Peter Jackson who recapped the first two films of "The Hobbit" in terms of story and technology. The director then shared what to expect in "The Hobbit: There and Back Again."

There are some behind-the-scenes footage but there was no official trailer. Per theonering.net, a video clip of Gandalf was revealed, however, as the wizard cautioned:

"The time is upon us where we all must choose what side we're on."

New footage on "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" was scant, The Wrap noted, apart from "a few dramatic stares courtesy of Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and Bilbo (Martin Freeman) and a glimpse of a flying dragon."

Daniel Wood wrote for UK Yahoo! Contributor Network that while he expected that Peter Jackson won't just throw all the best moments easily even for CinemaCon and that's why there are no teasers or clips for "The Hobbit: There and Back Again."

"Again this can only be expected when post-production and VFX work still needs to be done but it's hard not to be a little disappointed," he wrote.
