Jang Keun Suk's First Studio Album Tops Oricon Charts

Hallyu star Jang Keun Suk proves his popularity in Japan.

Jang Keun Suk's first Japanese studio album ‘Just Crazy,’ which was released on May 30, topped the Oricon daily chart on the day it was released. Further, this album was #1 album sold on the Tower Record's website and the album sold 130,000 copies in just preorders alone.

To celebrate the release of Jang Keun Suk's album, 250,000 viewers watched Jang Keun Suk's Special on the Japanese video site ‘Nico Nico LIVE’ which aired for 24 hours, from 9pm on May 29 to 9pm on May 30. A restaurant in Odaiba launching a product in collaboration with Jang Keun Suk, is booked until June 17.

Further, in April 2011, Jang Keun Suk topped the daily and weekly charts of Oricon with his debut single ‘Let Me Cry.’ It was the first time an Asian solo artist's first debut single placed 1st place in Japan.

Jang Keun Suk will begin his ‘2012 Jang Keun Suk's Asia Tour - The Cry Show 2’ in Korea in July. Afterwards, he will continue his tour in 4 cities Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka in Japan and in 4 regions in Southeast Asia region of China, Taiwan, and Thailand.
