"Devious Maids" Season 2 is set to premiere in a few days and it appears that Lifetime's contentious show has overcome the initial controversies that hounded it. The series, under the helm of Marc Cherry and executive produced by Eva Longoria, has also found home in Atlanta.

In an interview with Latina, Eva Longoria speaks about the show's controversial beginning and how they were able to overcome the challenges that went with it.

It can be recalled that before "Devious Maids" went on air in June last year, critics were on its tail calling the show stereotyping Latinas.

"The fact that we are on the air with this amazing show means we've won about 20 victories already," Eva Longoria told Latina.

She even added: "From the writing to the casting to the producing to the fighting for marketing dollars -- there are so many challenges we overcame to get to this point."

The executive producer of "Devious Maids" even said that the show is actually a "groundbreaking opportunity for the Hispanic community" and that "it's really good."

Meanwhile, it seems that the cast and crew of "Devious Maids" Season 2 are feeling at home in Atlanta where the show is being filmed.

Its other executive producer Sabrina Wind was quoted by backstage.com saying: "It's really a wonderful environment, and there are incredible people there."

Even Rebecca Wisocky, who plays socialite Evelyn Powell in "Devious Maids" Season 2, only has good words to say about Atlanta.

"It's just a wonderful town-lots of artists, lots of craftspeople, lots of intermingling of disciplines and cultures and art forms," she said.

Edy Ganem, playing Valentina Diaz in "Devious Maids" season 2, also considers shooting in Atlanta as "a dream come true" adding that being in the state allows her to focus only on the show.

Apart from the environment though, the healthy tax credits in Georgia was a big plus factor as it allows lessening a cable show's financial strictures. Although the show is set in California, filming is being made in Atlanta.
