While fans are hoping for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's relationship to be rekindled, recent reports claim that Robert Pattinson and Katy Perry's closeness might hinder the 'Twilight' stars from reuniting.

While the British hunk will reportedly do his best to be with Stewart for her birthday in Los Angeles, California, OK! magazine reports that Robert Pattinson and Katy Perry have always been "flirtatious" to each other.

"Rob has made [Katy] promise to count on him for support, like she did for him when he split from Kristen Stewart. The question is, how much comforting will go - they always had this really flirtatious relationship," claimed the publication's source.

Nonetheless, another source of Hollywood Life claims that Robert Pattinson and Katy Perry are nothing but good friends: "Rob has absolutely no interest in hooking up with Katy. They are close friends, but that's it. She was there for Rob when he split with Kristen and he's been helping her deal with getting over John, like offering advice, but that's it."

It is yet unknown whether the 'Water for Elephants' actor will indeed attend the 'Snow White and the Huntsman' actress' intimate birthday party this coming April 9. One source reports that it has been four months since their last meeting. Pattinson's schedule has been occupied by the filming of his upcoming flicks, 'Life' and 'Queen of the Desert'.

"They haven't actually seen each other yet, but plan on reuniting in the next day or so with all of the dogs in tow. It's been like four months since they've seen each other. He wanted to make sure he was in LA for Kristen's birthday," said the source.
