Now that Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have been announced, rumors regarding the interesting cover art have surfaced.

As Pokemon fans have noticed, the Nintendo 3DS cover art for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire showcases legendary Kyogre and Groudon with new designs.

This is by no means an accident. According to Serebii, The Pokemon Company has confirmed in a company E-mail that the Groudon and Kyogre on the box art are in fact "never before seen Pokemon."

The same terminology has been used before the reveal of Kyurem and Mega Mewtwo Y, and there are a few theories as to the new legendary designs for Kyogre and Groudon.

Given the recent success of Pokemon X and Y, the most obvious implication is that Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will reveal Mega Kyogre and Mega Groudon.

Most fans expect that more Mega Evolutions will be introduced in the remakes, so perhaps it will begin with Kyogre, Groudon, and the already revealed Blaziken from the Hoenn Pokedex.

The other theory is that Kyogre and Groudon will receive new forms in a new method, perhaps similar to Giratina or Arceus.
Meanwhile, you won't have to wait much longer to see more footage of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

PokeJungle reports that the Pokemon-themed variety show "Get TV" will air an episode this Sunday featuring the first footage of the upcoming Nintendo 3DS games.
