Sunderland will face off against rival Swansea City on Sunday, placing two of the English Premier League's closely followed teams against each other.

Sunderland, coming out of a 1-0 win over Manchester United, is expected to be the favorite in the match.

Sunderland Manager Gus Poyet said his team's future remains uncertain ahead of an upcoming summit, the Mirror reports.

"He's as committed as when we first signed here. We signed for this year and next year, that was the length of contract we got, and we are committed to it - hence him not being here," Poyet's assistant said, according to the site.

"The reason he's not here is because he's trying to sort the foundations out for our club."

Swansea City, coming out of a 1-0 loss to Southampton, is expected to be the underdog in the match.

Swansea City Manager Garry Monk said he is not fazed by upcoming tasks for his team, BBC Sports reports.

"It is something I have always dreamed about doing. I didn't expect it to come this soon, and it is an opportunity I intend to take," he said, according to the site.

"I've lived in this city for 10 years. I have always tried my hardest for the club, so it never felt like a trial."
