NBA Trade Rumors: Michael Carter-Williams To Los Angeles Lakers? Sixers Want 7th Overall Pick For 2013-14 Rookie Of The Year!

The NBA Trade Rumors are starting to roll as the draft nears. The Philadelphia 76ers still want to haul more players from this draft, and they're willing to give up last season's Rookie of the Year!

Trade talks are swirling among two teams who were both tanking last season. Of course, they are going to make some moves. Now that they are armed with their lottery draft picks, they can chart the next phase of their franchise.

The LA Lakers are on a much shorter leash than the Sixers, and their main plan is to attract free agents. They are not looking for a slow rebuild since they only have a two year window for Kobe Bryant.

Thus, the deal to acquire to useful pieces who have experience (though just one season for MC Dubs) in exchange for draft picks and a possible retiring player to provide more cap space just might work in their favor.

Sportsnaut has analyzed: "Why the Sixers would give up two 'proven' lottery picks for a point guard that's likely to retire if traded and the No. 7 overall pick is a question for another time. Acquiring the seventh pick would give Philadelphia three selections in the top 10 of the draft next week.

It is also an indication that Philadelphia is willing to part with both Michael Carter-Williams and Thaddeus Young in a potential deal. The issues with this specific deal is that you would think it could get more in return.

As for the Lakers, Carter-Williams and Young would give them two solid building blocks for the future and more proven commodities to help recruit potential free agents to Southern California."

The Sixers already have cap space but they are willing to exchange them for more rookie contracts. Eventually, they need to use the cap space but they it would be difficult to attract prime free agents if they would be surrounded by rookies.

But the Sixers have already sold a long-term rebuild to their fan base, and they will have young, exciting players.
