The 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions are gaining ground as some players are feeling some of the implications of the superstars' moves.

One such case is Isaiah Thomas of the Sacramento Kings. He had a breakthrough year this season and turned some heads despite being limited in size. Most observers, however, did not see him as a  good starting point guard and Sacramento wasn't quite ready to commit him to long term money.

The recent news that Rudy Gay, the Kings' highest paid player has opted in to his $ 19 million contract. That leaves even less money on the table for Thomas.

The diminutive point guard (standing only 5'9") talked to Basketball Insiders about his prospects for free agency.

"I read the stuff, but it doesn't bother me because I know the business of basketball. I know one guy can say one thing and it's not even true and it's around the whole United States; that's just how it is. That's why they're called rumors. I definitely do read it because I like to stay in the loop, but they don't bother me."

He was not exactly disheartened that the Kings did not seem so keen to offer an extension. He's ready to play for other teams-specifically their in-state rivals who need all sorts of talent..the Los Angeles Lakers.

"It would mean a lot (receiving an offer sheet from the Lakers). Not even just the Lakers, but just to have other teams trying to get you, it means you're wanted. Like I've said in interviews before, I just want to be wanted. I want to be wanted for being 5'9 and I want to be wanted for being a scoring point guard. That's all that I can say. If that's the Lakers, I'd be happy. If that's the Kings, then I'd be happy. I just want to be wanted and I want to win."

It's tough but it's a business, and Thomas knows that. The Lakers would actually need a quick point guard and he would also be mentored by Steve Nash. But the Lakers, even more than the Kings, have a lot of 'figuring out' to do.
