2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: Dwyane Wade Free Agent? Miami Heat Guard Has Less Options Now! Will LeBron James Force Him To Take A Pay Cut?

The 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions is at an all-time high now that the King has thrown his hat into the party! His former running mate, Dwyane Wade, will have to follow, right?

But that is the big difference now. Four years, four straight trips to the NBA Finals, but they only got two championships.  LeBron has been chastised no end for his declaration of 'not one, not two..not seven' championships. To be fair, Wade was just laughing at it.

The joke is not funny for LeBron, and it was visible in his body language at the end of Game 5.

Still, LeBron would not leave his team without talking to them, and Yahoo Sports reports that the meeting will happen soon:

"In the wake of LeBron James' decision to opt out of his contract, the NBA's best player is still expected to sit down with Miami Heat teammates Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh to discuss a future together with the team, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The meeting is expected to take place days before the official beginning of free agency, and there's an expectation that the Heat's "Big 3" will have a strong idea about whether they'll continue together in Miami before James, 29, can hit the market on July 1."

There are some slight differences between now and 2010 that could make a difference in Wade's decision making. Wade is no longer considered the best shooting guard in the league. Wade missed almost half the season either injured or nursing an injury. Coach Spoelstra has rested him on back-to-back games. Simply put, Wade is on his last legs-and this is probably his last chance to cash in on a big contract.

LeBron James has a different agent now, and he is making a decision on his own. That decision could mean that he's not taking a pay cut. From Yahoo:

"The opt-out had been anticipated for James, who can work with the Heat on a new deal. For Paul (Rich Paul, LeBron's agent), this is a chance to earn a commission on his first contract with James. Creative Arts Agency negotiated deals for James, Wade and Bosh in the summer of 2010, but will no longer receive commission on James' renegotiated deal with Miami, or a new deal elsewhere."

There will be a hint of selfishness on LeBron's part but after the Finals' series, most will say it's justified. Will LeBron ask Wade to take a pay cut to make the team better? It's unlikely that they will still have identical salaries like before. Wade is still the face of the Miami Heat, the one that put all the pieces together but how much value does that have now when he is no longer a force on the basketball court?
