2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: LeBron James To Golden State? Total Shakeup For Warriors Could Form Big Three Of Curry, Love And The King! Will It Happen?

All bets are off on 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions after LeBron James opts out and is ready to test the waters. As many as 15 teams can sign him outright, but the best teams need to get creative.

One team could get very creative and eventually become the biggest powerhouse in the NBA this side of Miami. The Golden State Warriors have assets that could form a more balanced Big Three that's much younger than Dwyane Wade.

The idea first floated on a Grantland podcast between ESPN Insider Chad Ford and the Sports Guy Bill Simmons:

"Ford: If you have Steph Curry, and if you have Kevin Love, why isn't Golden State a compelling destination for LeBron?

Simmons: Oh, wow.

Ford: Great market. Steve Kerr is a good coach. Steph Curry, Kevin Love, two players that are better right now - Steph Curry is better than Dwyane Wade, Kevin Love is better than Chris Bosh. Golden State, if they do that [Klay Thompson and David Lee] deal and don't take on [J.J.] Barea, can move Andre Iguodala to a team with cap space. They can move him. They can move Harrison Barnes to a team with cap space if they need to. Or they can do a deal with Miami if they wanted to do a sign-and-trade or what have you. They could get LeBron in.

Simmons: Interesting. Miami isn't helping them, though. If I'm Miami, I'm going down with the LeBron ship."

Of course, this idea is purely wild speculation on their part, and the moves that Ford suggested are easier said than done. But they are also plausible.

There are many teams in the league that would gladly take Andre Iguodala and Harrison Barnes in a salary dump. As we mentioned, 15 teams have cap space and if they can translate that into proven talent, they would not hesitate.

Also, the Bay area fan base is one of the most loyal and rabid in the entire league. While Pat Riley of the Heat remained adamant that they won't trade LeBron, if he doesn't have a choice and he's got Igoudala and Barnes as consolation prizes,  that would be hard to refuse.

Stranger things have happened in the NBA.
