NBA Draft 2014: Jabari Parker Hates The Cavs? Duke Standout Did Not Perform In Team Workouts--Did He Tank To Get To The Bucks?

The NBA Draft 2014 is down to less than 48 hours and the Cleveland Cavaliers have yet to decide on whom to take with the first overall pick.

It's a position that every team wanted to be in, but now the Cavs are feeling the pressure. With the discovery of Joel Embiid's injury, the Cavs were spared of a potentially catastrophic situation. Now that it's down to the two small forwards, Jabari Parker and Andrew Wiggins, Cleveland is still pondering.

From ESPN:

"They are torn. They met for three hours, and all they talked about was those two guys. They haven't come to a decision yet."

The issue is not as simple as it sounds, as there are trade offers left and right. There was the longtime rumor that Philadelphia will send #3 and Thaddeus Young or the #10 pick to get the top overall selection-just to ensure that they get Andrew Wiggins.

There is also the rumor of the Utah Jazz offering the 5th overall pick along with Derrick Favors or Trey Burke for #1 to endure they get Jabari Parker.

But the Cavs could use the pick themselves. From ESPN: "For the past few days, the Cavaliers, according to sources, have been leaning toward selecting Parker. The 6-8 forward averaged 19.1 points and 8.7 rebounds as a freshman at Duke last season. He would address some of Cleveland's most pressing needs: shooting, basketball smarts and toughness. If the Cavs lose Luol Deng to free agency as widely expected, they will need help at small forward."

However, it seems like the decision has been made for them. From Chad Ford, ESPN Insider:

Parker came in to work out on Friday in front of the Cavs' front office and ownership. Parker wasn't great. He was a bit heavy (he weighed in at 255 pounds), didn't shoot the ball well and got winded at times. Furthermore, two different sources told ESPN.com that Parker seemed a bit indifferent. One source said he thought Parker 'tanked' the workout.

Why? A source says he strongly prefers to play in Milwaukee. The Cavs appear to be aware of this. Quoting an unnamed source: 'Jabari wasn't himself. It was clear we weren't his first option.'"

In a Grantland BS Report Podcast, it was reasoned that Jabari Parker's Chicago roots came into play. Milwaukee is a city near Chicago and many of his native fans could follow him there. But it was also pointed out that the Cavs could still take Parker and he would have no choice but to play there-which Ford reiterates, "would not really be a problem."
