Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Review, Update: Android 4.4.2 KitKat Rollout For For Phablet Now Available; Verizon, Bell Canada Pushed Updates

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 review, update: We’ve reported earlier that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat rollout for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has been delayed until July 2014, but our readers informed us that Verizon and Bell Canada has pushed the updates and made the new OS upgrade available last week.

Gotta Be Mobile has reported earlier that the roll out of the 4.4.2 has began but at a very slow pace. The site noted that faster access to the new OS update maybe available around June, right before the Google I/O conference. It looks like the updates, however, have been available or is being pushed a week before the I/O developers conference. The event begins tomorrow, June 25.

SamFirmware notes that there have been 11 Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat updates pushed out for the GT-N7100 model in May. There has also been an update for the GT-N7105 variant of the handset. GBM pointed out that the GT-N7105 is only available in Nordic countries.

Though the 4.4 KitKat rollout for the Note 2 has not been Samsung’s best, it’s still showing signs of life and it’s expected that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update will be pushed out to every Samsung Galaxy Note 2 model in every single region of the world.

Specs of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 include a 5.5-inch display, a quad-core processor and a 1.9MP camera. The unit comes with Android 4.1 JellyBean out of the box. The device comes in three versions – 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. It comes with a 3100 mAh battery which should be good for full workday use.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which was succeeded by the Note 3, is compatible with the South Korean tech giant’s wearable flagship, Samsung Galaxy Gear.

The unlocked version of Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is available from $350 to $400 (or more in some cases) from Amazon.com.
