Google I/O Conference 2014: Android 4.5 Lollipop In Tow In Tomorrow's Event? Senior VP Sundar Pichai To Preview The Newest Android Version

During Apple's WWDC event earlier this month, a lot of people were surprised that the Cupertino company has already announced and introduced the features of its newest mobile platform - iOS 8. It appears its biggest competitor is planning to announce a new version of its own platform during the Google I/O Conference which begins tomorrow.

According to a report by GSM Arena, Google's Senior Vice President Sundar Pichai has indicated that he will be the one to preview the upcoming version of Android - which has been rumored to be named Lollipop.

While Google has not yet made the official announcement, the I/O Conference 2014 has already confirmed that Google will be launching its upcoming Android version and starts with the letter "L".

Aside from the the unveiling of Android 4.5 Lollipop, some of the expected highlights during the event would be the Nexus 9 or Volantis which is developed by HTC and sports an 8.9-inch display and 2GB of RAM according to recent leaks. The tablet is expected to run on Android 4.5 Lollipop right away.

In addition to version 4.5 and the Nexus 9 from HTC, another expected announcement would be the Android Wear which would be the offical smartwatch lineup of Google.

Android Wear should have several partner manufacturers which would be working on several smartwatches, all within the Android Wear lineup.

However, we don't know what impact it would bring other manufacturers who have already developed their Android smartwatches such as Samsung (three Galaxy Gear smartwatches), Motorola (Moto 360) and LG for its upcoming LG G Watch.

Google will be holding its annual I/O Conference event tomorrow so we will see whether or not all of these details are worth looking. We're pretty much excited with how the search giant has tweaked Android once more in this Lollipop version.
