Eliza Dushku Rick Fox Break Up: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Star Will Return to Her Dollhouse in Boston

Eliza Dushku and Rick Fox have broken up after dating for five years. The "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star said it was a problem of East Coast-West Coast preferences.

Dushku and Fox began dating in 2009. The couple moved in together in 2010. Fox played a guest role on Dushku's drama "Dollhouse" in 2010.

In an interview with The Boston Globe, Eliza Dushku said the split with Rick Fox was the best way to deal with each of them wanting to live on opposite coasts. "Rick's an L.A. guy and I'm a Boston girl," she said.

The former Dollhouse star and the retired NBA player dated for five years. Dushku recently moved back to her native Boston after living in Los Angeles for 22 years.

Dushku told the Boston Globe "I'd rather be a little physically cold here than emotionally cold in L.A. I missed my town and I missed my family."

The Boston Globe reported that Dushku bought a condo near Watertown. "Nobody in LA has a basement," she said. "They all have the obligatory storage spaces in the Valley."

She said she will not be quitting acting, but she plans to go back to school. Dushku didn't say  where she would be attending college or what she was planning on studying.

Dushku told The Improper Bostonian. "After living in Los Angeles for 15 years, I definitely grew out of being an L.A. hater, but I think there's a level of truthfulness and individuality here that is refreshing in a business where everyone conforms to certain standards."

Earlier this year, Dushku auditioned to star in the "How I Met Your Dad" pilot, but she didn't get the part. She will next hit the screen in the horror movie "Eloise" which co-stars Chase Crawford, The film wrapped earlier this month.
