Portugal will face off against Ghana in a group match of the Brazil World Cup 2014 tournament, pitting two Group G teams against each other.

Portugal, ranked fourth within the group, is expected to be the underdog in the match.

The European team's coach Paulo Bento said he will not resign if his team is eliminated from the tournament, The Guardian reports.

"What I can say is that my feeling today is the same feeling I had before the [World Cup play-off] match against Sweden, when I talked about the pride, happiness and joy for being the head of the national team and how much trust I have in the players that took us this far," he said, according to the site.

"In April there was an agreement with the Portugal Football Federation [when Bento signed a two-year extension]. Whatever happens in the match against Ghana, I am not going to resign from my job as a coach, it's not my intention, it's not the intention of the federation staff or the president of the federation."

Ghana, ranked third in the group, is expected to be the favorite of the match.

The African team's manager James Kwesi Appiah was praised by Germany's coach Joachim Low following their last stalemate match.

"We conceded two goals out of nothing, but the team showed morale and came back again," said Low, according to Fox Sports.

"They are incredibly exhausted. In the second half, it was an open exchange of blows at a crazy pace and the players gave every last ounce of energy that they had."
