Upcoming Huawei Phones 2014: Octa-Core Powered Huawei Honor 6 Announced, Faster Than Snapdragon 805 Chip, Packs 5" 1080p Display, 3GB RAM

If you are into Android phones which do not break the bank, then you are probably waiting for upcoming Huawei phones for 2014. Apart from its stylish design, the phones from the Chinese manufacturer pack respectable if not high-end specs which can really give the top Android phones a good fight.

One of these Huawei flagships which is built to make an impact is the Honor 6. Announced just a couple of days ago, the Huawei Honor 6 really does some justice to its model name as it is currently the flagship device from the Chinese manufacturer.

In the report by GSM Arena, the device is super thin at only 6.5mm on its waistline. Other dimensions include 139.8 x 68.6 and the Android phone tips the scales at only 135g.

The new Android handset packs a 5-inch JDI display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, an octa-core CPU composed of four Cortex-A15 and two Cortex-A7 CPUs. Running the graphics for the Honor 6 is a Mali-T624, while there is a Kirin 920 chipset which is developed by Huawei itself.

Comparing this chip with Samsung's Exynos, the Kirin is listed to be more powerful and faster. According to the report, even Snapdragon 805 looks a bit slower compared to Kirin 920 when both chips appeared on AnTutu's benchmark.

Another highlight of the Huawei Honor 6 is its 3GB of RAM which would help the device run multiple tasks and applications at once. There is also an option for a 16GB or 32GB built-in storage, both expandable via the provided microSD card slot.

On the camera department, the Honor 6 packs a 13MP primary camera made by Sony with an f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash. In front of the device lies a 5MP front shooter to capture all those selfies and conduct video calls.

Unfortunately, both pricing and availability details are not yet revealed by the Chinese brand.
