2014 NBA Draft: Everything We Know Now About The 2014 NBA Draft! The Most Talented Draft Class In Almost A Decade!

The 2014 NBA Draft is happening in a few hours. This will be the most talented draft class in recent memory and the teams have been anticipating the prospects in this draft for almost two years now.

The main focus of the draft are its top three players: Jabari Parker of Duke, Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid from Kansas.  They are all "one and dones" meaning they are leaving their chosen colleges after completing their freshman year.

But there are also a lot of prospects aside from these two. Dante Exum from Australia, fellow one and dones Julius Randle of Kentucky, Aaron Gordon form Arizona and Noah Vonleh from Indiana.  Sophomores Marcus Smart from Oklahoma State and Nick Stauskas from Michigan will probably round out the top 9 players of this draft class.

NBA Draft Insider Chad Ford emphasizes just how much talent is available in this draft by categorizing the players according to 'tiers.'

There are three Tier one players in this draft (Wiggins, Parker, Embiid).  The description: "This category is usually reserved for guys who are sure-fire All-Stars or "franchise" players."

Ford also notes: "Since 2009, only (Blake) Griffin, John Wall and (Anthony) Davis have been ranked in this slot. This year, there are three players in Tier 1 -- as many as there have been in the last five years combined."

Wall, Griffin and Davis are now legitimate superstars in the NBA. If the prediction holds true for these three, then this will be a draft for the ages.

The Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA lottery and they are the first to pick. They are probably the luckiest team in the NBA, at least with the lottery, winning it an unprecedented five times and three times in the last four years (2011, 2013, 2014).

The Cavs were about to pick Joel Embiid, a 7'0" center from Cameroon but he injured his foot and had to undergo surgery. Embiid will miss the draft, and will not play for 4-6 months. It is predicted that the Cavs will pick Andrew Wiggins instead.
