‘Winds Of Winter’ Release Date Speculations Irks ‘Game Of Thrones’ Author George R.R. Martin? Hints Movie Adaptation Of Hit HBO Series Possible

"Winds of Winter" release date speculations have already gotten into the nerves of "Game of Thrones" writer George R. R. Martin, who also hinted of the possibility of a movie adaptation of the hit HBO series.

"Game of Thrones" author George R. R. Martin was again asked of the "Winds of Winter" release date by the Swiss newspaper Tages-Anzeiger and he revealed that he find it offensive when people suggest that he could not finish the remaining books of "A Song of Fire and Ice" series.

"I find that question pretty offensive, frankly, when people start speculating about my death and my health," he told the newspaper. "So f-k you to those people."

He even flipped the middle finger, said MailOnline.

However, he did acknowledge that his writing pace has slowed down.

"I have been slowing down. I don't know if it's the fact that I'm getting older - I think it's partly that," he said.

"But I also think it's partly that the series is so much more successful that there's demands that come with success," he further explained of the "Winds of Winter" release date delay.

Meanwhile, in an interview with ScreenDaily, George R.R. Martin said that there' s a possibility that a "Game of Thrones" movie will be made.

"If we go seven or eight seasons and then [if] the show is still big enough that we can get the $200million to finance a huge epic movie to end it," he said.

While there's no word yet on the "Winds of Winter" release date, the Washington Post came to the defense of "Game of Thrones" author George R. R. Martin as it said that his reputation as a slow writer is undeserved.

"Martin is indeed taking his time - but the pace of his output, page-wise, is on track with Rowling's and higher than just about any of the other fantasy authors listed."

Earlier, editor Anne Lesley Groell said during a Q&A in Suduvu Universe in reply to a fan asking for the "Winds of Winter" release date that they expect to have it "reasonably soon."
