LG G2 vs. Nexus 5 vs. Sony Xperia Z1 vs. Moto X: Google and LG’s release of the LG Nexus 5 last year sparked after attention in the market. Critics noticed that the smartphone fares the same range quality as LG G2, Sony Xperia Z1, and Motorola Moto X.

If you’re in the market searching for mid-range quality and affordable smartphones, take a look as this quick comparison of the four Android handsets.

PROCESSOR. The Nexus 5, LG G2, and Xperia Z1 are all tied with the 2.26GHz quad-core processor —a fair kind that is in line with even the flagship models of LG and Sony. Unfortunately, the Moto X trails behind with only a Snapdragon 1.7 GHz dual-core under its hood.

SCREEN SIZE. The LG G2 takes the lead in having the biggest touch-screen interface at 5.2 inches. Meanwhile, the 5-inch Xperia Z1 and 4.95-inch Nexus 5 trail in second and third, respectively. The Nexus 5 also boasts of a full HD 1080p resolution. The 4.7-inch Moto X, however, stands out from the group with its small screen, acting as an alternative for users who are tired of wide screen smartphones.

BATTERY LIFE. Because of its HD screen and small battery size at 2,300 mAh, battery life is one of the biggest fall backs of the Nexus 5. It can drain battery life faster even compared to the Moto X which only has 2,200 mAh. Both the G2 and Xperia Z1 gain the top spot with 3,000 mAh.

CAMERA. When it comes to camera, nothing comes close to the 20.7-Megapixel rear camera of Xperia Z1. The G2 follows with 13 MP OIS camera, then the Moto X with 10 MP. Lagging behind is the Nexus 5 with only 8 MP. The Nexus 5 has the same camera with its predecessor, the Nexus 4.

WATER RESISTANCE. Both the Xperia Z1 and Moto X boast of water-resistant features. The Xperia Z1 has an edge over the other because of its full IP55/IP58 certification for dust- and water-proofing. The G2 and Nexus 5 don’t have any kind of water resistance feature.

VERDICT. These are only some of the features that the four Android smartphones can offer. So which one is the best? Well, each handset sports a unique kind of feature that can cater to a different kind of user. It all depends on what aspect you prioritize.
