Jeremy Lin News: 'Linsanity' Star Traded To Lakers, Chance To Play With Kobe Makes Playmaker 'Thrilled'

The latest Jeremy Lin news will rock his fans as Linsanity would soon be a mainstay in the purple and gold squad.

The report comes shortly after reports came up telling us that Carmelo Anthony has trimmed down his options to two - either build a new power team in Chicago or return to New York and get the $129 million contract.

Apparently, both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets were expecting the 30-year old scoring machine to make a more favorable decision.

Now that option one for both teams are now gone, they go for Plan B.

Without Melo in the lineup, it is very unlikely that frontman Pau Gasol would be returning to L.A. and so the Lakers would need to sign a sparkplug that would at least make the team exciting during this season.

Linsanity could be the answer.

Playing with the Rockets for his first two full seasons in the NBA, the Harvard standout averaged 12.5 points, 4.8 assists and 1.3 steals. The lower assist output is primarily caused by Lin's diminished role as a sixth man off the bench. During the 'Linsanity' stretch with the Knicks in 2012, Lin was the primary ball handler and ran pick and roll plays impeccably.

But as his co-star James Harden is also dominant with the ball, head coach Kevin Mchale chose his priced shooting guard.

However, as Lin moves to California, we can expect more from the point guard who outscored the NBA's best scorers in their first five games as starters.

In the report by Bleacher Report, the Rockets have sent Lin and a future first round draft pick to the Lakers, which should be enough for the team to clear some cap space.

Now that Lebron has made his decision to return to Cleveland, and Chris Bosh has recently been reported to sign with the Heat, Houston should decide and act quick whether they would match Dallas' offer for Chandler Parsons or not.
