2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: Chandler Parsons Moves To Dallas! Houston Rockets Did Not Match Offer! Rising Star Also Named Part Of Team USA!

The 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions are nearing the homestretch. It's been a wild ride since LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony signed with their respective teams. Now, the next tier of small forwards are getting their nods. The third best small forward is either Luol Deng or Chandler Parsons.

Age might be a factor, and the much younger Parsons would be a more valuable commodity right now. That also showed in their contracts.

According to CBS Sports: "Parsons learned he will be joining the Dallas Mavericks, as the Houston Rockets surprisingly elected not to match his three-year, $46 million offer sheet."

In the end, the Houston Rockets decided that Chandler Parsons is not worth $ 15 million a year. They don't see him as a very important cog..important enough to make him the third wheel in a Texas Big Three they want to construct.

The Dallas Mavericks, on the other hand, has lost Jose Calderon to a trade with the New York Knicks and also failed to rein in Vince Carter who signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. They desperately need a three point shooter, and Chandler Parsons is one of the best in the NBA.

ESPN shared Chandler Parsons' reaction: "I really appreciate the opportunity Houston gave me and I had three great years there. but I am really excited for the next chapter of my career in Dallas -- to play with one of the greatest players in Dirk and a terrific owner in Mark Cuban."

They also note: "Cuban was equally ecstatic to land Parsons, saying 'Welcome to Dallas, Chandler Parsons!!!' via his Cyber Dust messaging app.

A product of the University of Florida Gators, Parsons found a home in Texas with Houston. He stays in the Lone Star State, just switching cities. He has also been named as part of Team USA's national pool!
