Upcoming HTC Phones 2014: 2 New Dual-SIM HTC Smartphones Poised To Make Splash In Indian Market

While HTC has been enjoying a good run recently, it doesn't stop them from releasing more upcoming HTC phones for 2014, this time for other markets.

According to a recent report by GSM Arena, the Taiwanese brand has just officially launched two new handsets for the Indian market.

The HTC One E8 was announced several weeks ago and packs similar specs to the One M8 flagship. However, in order to cater to a lower price tag, the One E8 takes off the metal casing of the M8, and puts on a durable polycarbonate plastic instead.

Behind the device also lies a 13MP primary camera, and not the 4MP Duo Camera of its more expensive sibling. Aside from the two major features, most of the specs are similar for the One M8 flagship and the slightly lower-end E8.

One of the upcoming HTC phones for 2014 packs a 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.5GHz, which is actually higher than the 2.3GHz CPU of the M8, 2GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 801 chipset.

Meanwhile, HTC also announced a cheaper handset in the Desire 616. The handset does not offer specs as exciting and impressive as the One E8, though for casual and average users, the features and specs of this Android device would be able to meet their needs.

The Desire 616 packs a 5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, an octa-core CPU, MediaTek MT6592 chipset, and 4GB of internal memory. The phone has 1GB of RAM, a microSD card slot, an 8-megapixel camera at the back and a 2MP front cam.

Both smartphones have dual-SIM compatibility, which is a very important feature in this emerging market.

In the report, the HTC One E8 will be priced at ₹34,990 or about $580 while the Desire 616 costs ₹16,900 or around $280.
