Overall, the handsets’ hardware and OS are fairly at the same range. The Lumia 525 has a slight advantage over the XL primarily because of its higher memory and RAM, which allows more apps and multi-function capabilities.

Both smartphones sport a 5 Megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. However, the Nokia XL has the upper hand with a front 2 MP camera.

The Nokia XL’s Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery allows a longer talk time of around 13 hours, compared to the Lumia’s Li-Ion 1430 mAh battery with only 10 hours and 40 minutes. However, the Lumia 525 can play longer music with about 48 hours compared to the XL which can only run up to 37 hours.

Both are prime smartphones which fare well when it comes to performance, battery life, display, and even camera. It is up to you to decide which aspect is more important.
